A night at the symphony rekindles spirits and lifts hearts. Add the beautiful songs of the American West and you have the makings for a spectacular event that will delight your symphony patrons. Code of the West Entertainment proudly introduces Wylie & the Wild West and Paul Zarzyski to symphony halls and performing art centers across the country.

Wylie and the Wild West

Nationally-known cowboy singer, musician and songwriter Wylie Gustafson along with his band Wylie & the Wild West play what they call "fine Western music." According to Jen Lunds of the Washington State Arts Commission, "It's a blend of County & Western, cowboy, Western swing, and American folk music that defies genre but inspires diverse audiences, east, west, and in between."

Mr. Gustafson and his band have graced the halls of the Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C.; the Lincoln Center, New York, NY; the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Symphony, and will perform with the Spokane Symphony in 2010. Mr. Gustafson offers a complete score that includes eight stunning arrangements of traditional cowboy and contemporary musical pieces, arranged by David Hansen & Rick Nobis.

Paul Zarzyski

Paul Zarzyski - nationally-known poet, lyricist, and recipient of Montana's 2005 Governor's Arts Award for Literature - adds a profound dimension to any symphonic Western gala. Mr. Zarzyski - transcends the traditional rhyme and rhythm of classic cowboy poetry as he explores and embraces the world with his unique poetic style and observations.

According to author Ed McClanahan, "Paul Zarzyski's poems will break your heart--and then turn right around and mend it. He looks pain squarely in the eye, takes its measure, and counters it with tenderness and wisdom, all in language that should be set to music."

Mr. Zarzyski has been a featured performer at the Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C.; the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, NV; the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Symphony; and will perform with the Spokane Symphony in 2010.
